Jerry V. Smith serves as the Chairman of the Board at TriStar Bank and is one of the bank’s original founders. He has been an attorney in Dickson for 35 years and serves as the Attorney for the City of Dickson. He is involved in numerous civic organizations in Dickson County including the High Noon Rotary Club, Boy Scouts of America, the Clement Railroad and Hotel Museum, and serves on the board of HCA’s Horizon Hospital.
Ted Williams is the President and CEO of TriStar Bank in Dickson. TriStar Bank is a $170 million local bank that he helped organize in 1999. He is a 1982 graduate of Dickson County High School, a 1986 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, a 1993 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at L.S.U. and holds a MBA from Tennessee State University. He is involved in many areas of the community, including Walnut Street Church of Christ, Dickson Lions Club, DCHS Athletic Hall of Fame Board, United Way, and the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee and is First Vice President of the Independent Bankers Division of the Tennessee Bankers Association. He has lived in Dickson since 1972.
Melissa H. Street, a native of Cheatham County, has lived in Dickson since 1972. She graduated from Dickson County High School in 1973 and began her banking career in 1976 at Stayton Bank and Trust. In 1995, she was named Executive Vice President, Credit Administrator, Senior Lender, and board member of Peoples Bank. Melissa is a graduate of the Tennessee School of Banking ‘85; the TBA Commercial Lending School ‘91, TBA Consumer Lending School ‘92, and the TBA Advanced Commercial Lending School at the Owen Graduate School of Management of Vanderbilt University ‘98. She has successfully completed all licensing requirements to sell life insurance and has obtained designation as a National Association of Securities Dealers Series 6 Agent and National Association of Securities Dealers 63 Licensing Agent. She currently serves as Secretary for the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, Funds and Risk Management Committee, and Loan Committee at TriStar Bank.
Stuart Speyer is the president of Tennsco Corporation and has been active with the company since 1980. Tennsco is a local manufacturer of steel storage and filing systems which was founded in 1962. The company is Dickson County's largest private employer. Mr. Speyer received an engineering degree from Princeton and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He has served on the bank board since 2004. Tennsco and the Speyer family have been tremendous contributors to many non-profit organizations including the Community Foundation, United Way, Humane Society, Dickson Help Center and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. They have also made several gifts to the community to include the use of a community center, tennis courts, softball complex and playground. Stuart is an active member of the High Noon Rotary Club.
Kevin Smith is co-owner of Benefits, Inc., a local business that provides employment benefits and services to many companies and municipalities in middle Tennessee. He received his B.A. from Lipscomb in 1988. Previously he sold financial products holding several state licenses to provide financial planning for individuals. He is a member of the Dickson Lions Club and Dickson Co. Chamber of Commerce. He joined TriStar Bank Board of Directors in 2010.
Sharon E Ferrell is the Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer. She has been with the bank since opening in 2000. She has 37 years of banking experience which began with Stayton Bank and Trust in Stayton Tennessee in 1975. She is a native of Dickson County and graduated from Dickson County High School in 1975. Sharon and her husband have 2 children and five grandchildren.
Wilson is a Certified Public Accountant and Consultant. Prior to establishing his tax and consulting practice in 1999, he worked for national and regional accounting firms beginning in 1972. He is a graduate of Dickson County High School, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Austin Peay State University, and is a graduate of Military Command and General Staff College. He spent almost 35 years in service and lastly served as a Deputy Chief of Staff to Adjutant General of Tennessee. He retired as Colonel from the Tennessee Army National Guard. Wilson served fifteen years as a founder and board member of Franklin National Bank from 1989 – 2004. He currently serves as a board member of the Community Foundation of Dickson County. He is a Trustee of the Tennessee National Guard Group Insurance Trust, and is a former member/director of Dickson High Noon Rotary Club. Wilson and his wife Jean reside in Dickson. They have three children, eight grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
Linda is a retired educator who taught at David Lipscomb High School in Nashville and in the Dickson County school system for 29 years. She is a 1964 graduate of Dickson High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from UT Knoxville, and a Master of Arts in Education from Austin Peay State University. She is a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ, Dickson County Chamber of Commerce, and a former board member of the Community Foundation of Dickson County. In 2010, she was elected to her 4th term as a member of the Dickson County Commission. Her husband, Thomas Hayes, served as Chairman of the Board of TriStar Bank from May, 2000 until his death in July, 2003. Linda and Tom have two children and four grandchildren.
Brian is an attorney in Dickson. He is a 1983 graduate of Dickson County High School, has a bachelor’s degree in finance from MTSU, and a doctorate of jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law. Brian is a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ, and serves on numerous community boards and committees. Brian retired as a Major from the Tennessee Army National Guard after 21 years of service which included a one-year tour in Afghanistan as a combat infantry adviser. He served as a bank board member for The Peoples Bank in Marion, Kentucky from 2007 to 2011, and in the 1990s was a bank examiner, and later legal counsel, for the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions. Brian has been practicing law since 1993. He and his wife, Carol, have two children, Patrick and Emma.
